The mission of
PlagioCoach is to help you, the parent of a child with
Plagiocephaly, win
insurance coverage for your child's cranial orthosis by providing you with the
information, tools and techniques that I successfully used to win coverage for
my daughter's cranial orthosis.
I know how frustrating it is to try and
convince the big insurance companies that a cranial orthosis is required to
treat your child's medical condition. It seems impossible, but it isn't. I
know because I did it! With the information on this web site I want to help
you win coverage, too.
 If you have sought legal help, you know how difficult it is to get a
lawyer to take these cases. Many lawyers work on contingency, taking a
percentage, usually one third, of what they recover. For a lawyer, one third of
$3,000 is not worth the amount of work required to fight the insurance
companies. And if they charged an hourly rate, it could cost you more to win
your case than the cost of the cranial orthosis. Consequently, we parents have
been left with no alternatives - UNTIL NOW!

different levels of assistance customized to your needs all at reasonable

The Book:
I provide a manual:
"Slingshot, A Lawyer's Guide To Getting Your Child's
Cranial Orthosis Covered By Your Medical Insurance Plan" that sets
forth the medical background of Plagiocephaly, the different types of cranial
orthosis and detailed chapters on how to overcome your insurance company's
denial whether it is because they claim it is "not medically necessary/no
functional impairment," "investigational/experimental," or "cosmetic." Included
in the manual are copies of documents and resources that will help you develop
a powerfully persuasive case for coverage.

The Classes:
If you
would like additional personal assistance, I offer group teleclasses that you
attend by phone from the comfort of your own home. Classes are small to provide
the ability to answer questions and allow group interaction and support. There
are three different classes available:
- Overcoming the Not Medically
Necessary/No Functional Impairment Coverage Denial
- Overcoming the
Investigational/Experimental Coverage Denial
- Overcoming the Cosmetic
Coverage Denial
You can sign up for one class, or for all three at
a discount. As an added bonus to teleclass participants, I provide actual
copies of the letters and submissions I used to win coverage.
